Already Gone

We live our lives in chains and we never even know we have the key..

What a simple quote. And how empowering at the same time.  We are our own worse enemy, we hold ourselves back, never quite allowing ourselves to gain that level of success that we are capable of obtaining.

We are limited by the chains we place on ourselves. On our demographic location, on our own limits we place on our abilities, and by believing we aren’t good enough.

Once you start living your life with no excuses mentality, you will soon begin to see opportunities popping up, and your journey beginning to really take of. You see, a child doesn’t have these limits. The only limits they know, are those that we teach them. Now, I’m not saying to teach your kid that if he wants to turn into a dinosaur, he can. That is just silly. But we can learn a lot from children.

Simple statements like: “Why are you sad?” “Why do you do it if you don’t like it?” “If he’s mean, why do you spend time with him?” Sometimes the simplest question can give you the biggest result…

“Why don’t you just do it?”

Sometimes it just takes that question, that tiny nudge to go “Why aren’t I doing this?”. Well, because you are so afraid to fail, that you won’t even think about the risk. Just do it. Leave the excuses – the chains – behind. Stop making excuses for why you can’t, and start making reasons you can.

Children really are inspiring. They are free spirited, questioning everything and living by few boundaries. They imagine something, and they go for it. In their minds, the only limits they have are their parents (For good reason right?!)

But we could learn a lot from them. Shed those feelings of self doubt and worry. Stop worrying about having a tick on you, and go run through the grass. Don’t be so afraid of what can happen, that you never take a risk in life.
